Virtual reality is transforming the travel industry. It started as nascent technology and has become, in business, a tool for promotions as well as advertising.
In fact, there are several virtual travel apps already in the market, and companies have already started experimenting with it as a fantastic medium to satisfy wanderlust without leaving home.
Just recently, we stumbled upon this cool tombscale vr app called Nefertari: Journey to Eternity. Developed by Experius VR, this VR experience makes use of digital scanning to virtually recreate the Egyptian tomb of Queen Nefertari on the HTC Vive.
Set in the tomb of Queen Nefertari, you can walk around and explore the tomb's chambers with stunning procession of humans, deities, animals and magical objects. The effect is rich, and it has an intensity that appeals strongly to modern eyes. But what makes the VR experience just as moving is the fine detail of the images and high-resolution textures that really make you feel like you’re there.
The Tombscale VR experience is quite short but it's still a great game of what VR is going to be able to do for the travel industry in the years to come.
The experience is free to download, so don’t miss out on it. The Nefertari: Journey to Eternity, a ‘Tombscale’ VR experience is free to download, so don’t miss out on it.
